The dental software company introduced new AI agents for scheduling and modular add-on suites for its DentalOS platform.

Planet DDS has announced an expansion of its artificial intelligence agent suite and a new packaging model for its DentalOS platform, following reported mid-year growth. The company reported a 24.3% year-over-year annual recurring revenue increase for Denticon, its core practice management solution.

New AI Agents Target Scheduling

To address industry staffing shortages, Planet DDS added two new AI agents to its software lineup in August. The missed appointment rescheduling agent contacts patients who no-show, while the cancellation rescheduling agent works to fill canceled slots before they remain empty. These tools join the company’s existing confirmation and recall agents, which automate patient outreach across practice locations.

Modular DentalOS Suites

The company also introduced a new structure for its DentalOS platform. DentalOS now acts as a base platform, allowing practices to select from five add-on suites: Agents+, Clinical Voice+, Imaging+, Patient+, and Payments+.

Once a dental support organization (DSO) adds a suite, it receives all current and future capabilities within that category at no additional cost. For example, a practice using Clinical Voice+ will have access to all current and future clinical documentation tools without needing separate evaluations or purchases.

“DSOs end up managing fragmented systems, disconnected point solutions, and piecemeal pricing right when they’re trying to scale,” says Nathan James, chief product officer at Planet DDS, in a release. “We want DSOs to have real control over their investment instead.”

Enterprise Wins and Partnerships

The recent growth was driven by enterprise client acquisitions, including Orthodontic Partners, Coast Dental, Jefferson Dental, and Mosaic Dental Collective.

“Growth like this comes from solving a real problem: DSOs are tired of paying for complexity instead of results,” says Eric Giesecke, chief executive officer of Planet DDS, in a release. “Our job is to give them one platform that scales with them and AI that lightens the load on their teams.”

Planet DDS also expanded its open ecosystem, which now includes more than 80 integration partners. A key partnership with Microsoft supports enterprise IT infrastructure for large DSOs, standardizing security and identity management across locations.
