uLab Systems announced uDesign Cloud 2.0, a platform update that moves segmentation, self-planning and printing/export capabilities fully into the cloud for orthodontic aligner workflows.

uLab Systems today announced the release of uDesign Cloud 2.0, a major platform update that brings core clear aligner workflows—including segmentation, self-planning, and printing or exporting STL files—fully into the cloud, letting orthodontists plan, manufacture and order aligners without desktop software.

Cloud-Based Segmentation and Planning

With Cloud 2.0, orthodontists can import scans, segment cases and self-plan treatment entirely in the cloud, mirroring the uDesign Desktop experience while eliminating the need to switch between platforms.

Printing and Export Capabilities

The update enables users to print models directly from the cloud or export STL files for in-office aligner or retainer fabrication, and to order uSmile aligners without opening desktop software.

Workflow Enhancements

Cloud 2.0 includes streamlined case start options, a retainer fast track for direct manufacturing, direct scanner integrations, improved attachment and staging tools, a new Social Six SmartRx for mild cosmetic or relapse cases, and performance upgrades for faster load times.

Desktop Enhancements

Alongside the cloud release, uLab also launched uDesign Desktop version 10.4 with enhanced indirect bonding tools, including bracket flipping and improved placement accuracy.
