By removing the separate bonding step, the integrated button reduces chair time and limits emergency appointments caused by traditional button debonding. This makes the feature applicable for movements such as molar distalization, extraction space closure, surgical cases, and deep bite correction, where traditional elastic cuts or bonded buttons may deform or fail.
Isaak Yelizer, DDS, singles out the clinical versatility of the angelButton, particularly in non-surgical gummy smile corrections using temporary anchorage devices (TADs). “Today it’s so easy to do this with four screws [for whole maxillary upper arch intrusion]… or just two screws if it’s just the anterior section that needs to be intruded,” Yelizer said. “You attach the screw and attach the elastic from the screw to the angelButton… and then within the first three or four months, you see safe, gradual intrusion. We don’t need to do as much gingival reshaping as we used to with fixed appliances because of gingival hyperplasia. The angelButton is a life changer.”
