The early bird registration deadline for a discount on attending the 2023 OSAP Dental Infection Control Boot Camp is coming up.

The deadline for early bird registration discount for the 2023 OSAP Dental Infection Control Boot Camp is Dec 14, 2022.

This year, The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) is offering two formats – In-Person Plus and On-Demand Only.

The fast-paced, foundational-level course is designed for those new to dental infection prevention and safety who are seeking an introductory understanding.

OSAP Boot Camp is also appropriate for those early in their career, making a career shift, or who want a refresher.

The course will take place in Atlanta, Ga, at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter at Ravinia from January 23 – 25. Sessions will be recorded and available to all registered participants starting February 13. Those who are unable to join in person can select the On-Demand Only option and will receive access to the session recordings for 60 days starting February 13.

OSAP will also host an Antibiotic Stewardship Summit pre-course event on January 22 focusing on antibiotic stewardship in dentistry and a special Federal Service Session on January 26.

“Whether you are a beginner or have years of experience in dental infection prevention and safety, we encourage you to join us at the 2023 OSAP Boot Camp,” said Michelle Lee, CPC, OSAP executive director. “Ensuring a safe dental visit is a team effort. Everyone from the assistant to the hygienist to the practice manager to the dentist is involved. And so are the educators, consultants, and sales representatives who sell dental infection control products and services. Participating in OSAP Boot Camp will ensure you and your team understand relevant infection control laws, regulations, guidelines, standards, and best practices to protect yourselves and provide safe care to every patient.”

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe disease transmission and principles of infection prevention and control in a variety of oral health care settings
  • Identify relevant infection control laws, regulations, guidelines, standards, and best practices
  • Utilize tools to assist with quality assurance measures (e.g., direct observation and feedback)

Participation in the 2023 Boot Camp also counts toward the education requirements for two dental infection prevention and control certifications: Dental Industry Specialist in Infection Prevention and Control (DISIPC) and Certified in Dental Infection Prevention and Control (CDIPC).
