Forestadent USA, St. Louis, has introduced BioPassive Brackets. BioPassive is the passive version of the company’s BioQuick brackets. BioPassive has all the same features of BioQuick, including a 0.016-inch x 0.016-inch auxiliary slot, the company’s patented 3D hook-style base, rounded edges, and a circumferential pad margin designed to aid in the bonding process.
The main difference between the BioPassive and BioQuick brackets is the slot size: The slot of the BioPassive bracket having been increased to allow room for the use of larger archwires with less friction. The BioPassive bracket can be used as a standalone system, or it can be used in combination with the BioQuick system.
