Ormco_Insignia_TwinOrmco Corp, Orange, Calif, announced the introduction of Insignia Twin.

Insignia Twin expands the appliance options in Insignia and makes the digital design and customized appliance treatment system, which was previously only available with self-ligating treatment options, available for conventional appliance options as well.

According to the company, Insignia Twin is based on traditional orthodontic principles and is powered by advanced digital technology. Insignia is designed to help minimize many of the complex variables that impact a patient case. Using the algorithm built into Insignia’s Approver software, the patient’s prescription is determined by the doctor’s final approved smile design and then the custom brackets, wires, and placement guides are manufactured. The clear indirect bonding guides are intended to enable accurate placement by doctors and staff members.

This latest expansion of Ormco’s digital product portfolio follows on the recent introduction of TruRoot data integration. The company’s proprietary TruRoot process combines cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) data and intraoral scanner or impression data to provide better representation of patient anatomy in the Approver software.

Insignia Twin will be on display and available for demo at Ormco’s booth (#1017) at the 2018 American Association of Orthodontists Annual Session in Washington, DC, on May 5 to 8, 2018.
