OraMetrix and Imaging Sciences Introduce Lower Dose, Faster i-CAT Scan for SureSmile

OraMetrix, Richardson, Tex, has partnered with Imaging Sciences International, Hatfield, Pa, to develop a new 3D scanning capability for OraMetrix’s SureSmile system. i-CAT® Next Generation by Imaging Sciences reduces the i-CAT/SureSmile scan protocol from 26.9 seconds to 14.7 seconds (making it a 45% faster 3D scan) and cuts a patient’s radiation dose by 43%.

OraMetrix recently released SureSmile 6.0, the latest version of the software. SureSmile 6.0, in combination with i-CAT Next Generation scans, is designed to allow orthodontists to proactively plan tooth movement on virtual digital models and customize prescriptive archwires.
