American Orthodontics, Sheboygan, Wis, will introduce a broad range of product enhancements during the upcoming American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) Annual Session in San Francisco, May 15 to 19, 2015.

The company will launch its newest instrument line, Luno Instruments. Crafted from American-forged steel to resist corrosion, Luno is available in a wide range of cutters, benders, and specialty pliers.

In addition, new arch forms for the Tanzo Premium Heat Activated Arch Wire line will be introduced. Tanzo Premium Heat Activated Arch Wire is crafted from copper nickel titanium and will be available in Form A medium and large arch forms, Natural Arch Form I, III, and VLP arch forms.

American Orthodontics will also showcase enhancements to its PowerScope Class II Corrector, Empower BX Lower Premolar Pads, and Blue Ray 3 Curing Light.

The PowerScope Class II Corrector will now feature a prominent laser marking ID for quicker and easier activation, and an improved screw and attachment mechanism for increased durability against patient abuse during treatment. A magnetic hex head driver for safely installing the appliance will also be available soon. The company will provide live PowerScope demonstrations at their AAO booth (#815)  every hour on the hour during the AAO Annual Session.

The Empower BX Lower Premolar Pads now feature an improved fit and stronger bond, and are 6% larger than standard pads, giving them an excellent fit on the tooth surface, according to the company. They also feature the same tooth ID as other Empower metal brackets. A new modified, thicker clip also helps wire seating, and the clip’s new middle prong helps suppress wire during closing and provides a visual cue to ensure the clip is fully closed.

The Blue Ray 3 Curing Light will now be available in both brushed stainless steel and polished black finish. It is also now covered by a 3-year warranty on the handpiece, battery, and charging base.
