The AAO recapped the 2023 Annual Session in Chicago, which garnered more than 12,000 attendees from all over the globe.

The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) announced the successful conclusion of its Annual Session 2023, held in Chicago, Illinois, from April 21- 24, 2023.

The conference brought together over 12,000 registered attendees from 94 countries to discuss the latest trends and innovations in the orthodontic specialty. The 2023 event delivered an economic impact to Chicago businesses and residents, totaling an estimated $25 million, according to the AAO.

The event, which included 4 days of learning, discussion, study, and collaboration for orthodontists and their staff, featured more than 200 lectures from leading orthodontic clinicians, researchers, and experts in practice management.

The AAO Annual Session Exhibit Hall featured over 350 exhibitors to advance orthodontic practices with groundbreaking products and services from hundreds of leading companies.

“We were thrilled with the success of Annual Session 2023. It is an incomparable opportunity to gain knowledge and insights into emerging treatment topics that will benefit orthodontists at all stages of their careers,” said Lili Horton, DMD, MS, chair of the committee on conferences and Meetings (CCON). “The weekend was full of opportunities to learn, reunite with colleagues and friends, and of course, find the latest technology advancements for our specialty,” continued Horton.

This year, the AAO brought attendees a customizable experience that made finding content that fit their goals easier and made the most of their time in Chicago. Each attendee was able to design a tailored experience. The attendee paths personalize a program targeting each attendee’s most pressing goals with 7 curated paths featuring the profession’s best education, innovation, and high-caliber networking with a dynamic community of peers.

CCON is already working to plan the 2024 Annual Session in New Orleans.
