Dental professionals in more than 70 countries are expected to take part in World Oral Health Day on March 20, 2014.
According to the American Dental Association, (ADA) the annual celebration is an opportunity to highlight the benefits of good oral health, promote awareness of oral health issues, and emphasize the importance of practicing good oral hygiene.
World Oral Health Day is organized by the FDI World Dental Federation in collaboration with the ADA, Listerine Mouthwash, Unilever Oral Care, Henry Schein Inc, and Wrigley Oral Healthcare Program.
Per the ADA, World Oral Health Day provides the dental profession a platform to take action in a worldwide effort to reduce tooth decay. Those interested in contributing to the effort are encouraged to organize events on March 20, or within the month of March.
