DentalMonitoring and Angel Aligner have integrated their platforms to allow orthodontists to remotely order refinement aligners using AI-generated SmartSTL files.

DentalMonitoring and Angelalign Technology Inc announced a new integration that connects DentalMonitoring’s AI-powered remote monitoring platform with Angel Aligner’s iOrtho system. The collaboration allows orthodontists to request refinement aligners remotely—without requiring in-office appointments—streamlining treatment workflows and supporting more flexible patient care.

SmartSTL Enables AI-Driven Refinements Without Office Visits

Central to the integration is DentalMonitoring’s SmartSTL technology, which generates STL files by combining the patient’s most recent intraoral scans, treatment stage files, and DentalMonitoring scan data. These files are automatically transferred into Angel Aligner’s iOrtho platform, allowing orthodontists to place refinement orders directly within the system.

According to a press release from the companies, the process includes:

  • Initiating a refinement order in iOrtho
  • Selecting DentalMonitoring Smart STL as the scan source
  • Automated Smart STL generation by DentalMonitoring
  • File validation and final submission in iOrtho by the doctor
