The Eklund Foundation will open its annual grant application period on May 1, offering up to €250,000 in total funding for dental research projects, with priority given to periodontology, implantology, and cariology.

The Eklund Foundation has announced that it will allocate up to €250,000 for dental research grants in 2025. The application period will run from May 1 to May 31 and is open to researchers worldwide in all fields of dentistry.

The foundation will consider both experimental and clinical studies, with preference given to research related to periodontology, implantology, or cariology. Applicants may submit proposals for funding either an entire project or part of a project.

Application Details and Process

The application form, along with detailed guidelines, is available year-round at eklundfoundation.org, though submissions will only be accepted during the May application window. The recipients of the 2025 grants are expected to be announced in September or October.

“Since its inception in 2015, the Foundation has aimed to support meaningful contributions to global dental research,” the organization stated.

Global Eligibility and Past Recipients

Researchers from any country or institution are eligible to apply. Previous recipients have included teams from the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Spain, Italy, Serbia, and the Netherlands.

The foundation was established in 2015 with a MSEK 50 donation from the Eklund family, owners of the Swedish oral health company TePe, to support research and education in the dental field.
