RHE Ortho Enterprises has launched the Rocket Retainer, a clear orthodontic retainer designed for post-treatment retention that can be fitted directly chairside. Preformed via injection molding from Vistamaxx, a patent-pending polyolefin elastomer, the retainer is reportedly highly resistant to staining, tearing, and bacterial growth. Clinicians can soften the material in a microwave to fit it directly in the patient’s mouth, and the retainer remains refittable if subsequent dental work alters the patient’s dentition.
