The Georgia School of Orthodontics (GSO), in keeping with its promise to provide $100,000 in complimentary orthodontic care to children in Georgia, has selected three youths in Gwinnett County to receive care at the school’s newly opened Duluth facility.
Currently 10 individuals are receiving complimentary treatment since the school opened in August 2016.
“We chose three children whose stories touched our hearts and inspired us. We want to help boost their confidence by giving them the smile they have always dreamed of and deserve,” said Dr Ricky E. Harrell, program director at GSO. During the event, Harrell also asked them to take a pledge to brush and floss daily, which they recited through laughs.
Through Smiles for Gwinnett, GSO’s program that provides the complimentary orthodontic care, the orthodontic school also donated $500 toward school supplies for each of the four Gwinnett County schools that nominated the most children. Three dental practices that nominated the most children won a $200 gift card for their practice.
