Rogers will lead the expansion of the company’s 3D-printed bracket system as founder Alfred Griffin transitions to chief product officer.

LightForce Orthodontics has appointed Erica Rogers as chief executive officer. Rogers will lead the commercial expansion of the company’s customized 3D-printed bracket system across the global orthodontics market.

Commercial Growth and Experience

The appointment coincides with a commercial milestone for the company, which recently reported treating more than 200,000 patients with its personalized digital orthodontic system. The platform generates an individual prescription for every tooth based on the doctor’s intended outcome, utilizing direct 3D printing and patient-specific appliances.

Rogers brings more than 30 years of medical technology leadership to the role. She previously served as chief executive officer of Silk Road Medical, guiding the company through an initial public offering and its subsequent acquisition by Boston Scientific. Rogers has also served on the LightForce board of directors for the past two years.

“LightForce has reached an extraordinary moment in its journey,” says Erica Rogers, chief executive officer, in a release. “The company has proved it can operate at commercial scale and earned the trust of orthodontists who are redefining how treatment is delivered. Our focus now is to scale that impact and advance orthodontics toward a new standard of care.”

Leadership Transition

Rogers succeeds LightForce founder Alfred Griffin, DMD, PhD, MMSc. Griffin will remain chairman of the board and transition to the role of chief product officer. In this position, he will direct the company’s innovation roadmap, product portfolio, and category advocacy while working with Rogers on strategy and growth.

“LightForce’s success has created an opportunity to expand under a leader with Erica’s experience scaling medical technologies, building organizations and establishing new categories of patient care,” says Alfred Griffin, founder and chief product officer, in a release.

Moving forward, the company plans to focus on increasing manufacturing scale, expanding the adoption of its generative braces, and advancing its ceramic and metal product offerings under Rogers’ leadership.
