With the support of the AAO Foundation, nine of the 11 known collections of longitudinal craniofacial growth records in the United States and Canada have been joined together to create a Web site and database to give clinicians, craniofacial researchers, students of human growth, and members of the public better access to these materials.

The collections represent the work of hundreds of investigators, covering more than 75 years of research. Taken together, the collections offer an extensive longitudinal record of craniofacial development among children who did not receive orthodontic treatment.

Documentation available in the collections includes various skull x-ray images, hand-wrist films, dental radiographs, facial photographs, and study casts. Written records on the physical and educational development of the children of various ethnicities and growth patterns also are available.
