The sixth annual Damon™ Forum attracted more than 1,000 orthodontists, residents, and clinical staff, setting a new record in attendance. The 2007 educational conference focused on treatment advantages of the passive, self-ligating Damon System.
“Damon Forum attendance is up 73% from 2 years ago, a testament to the Damon System being the fastest-growing orthodontic system on the market,” said Don Tuttle, president of Ormco.
Now one of the nation’s largest orthodontic events, the Damon Forum took place from January 24 to January 27 in Palm Desert, Calif. It offered more than 60 workshop sessions with 20 expert speakers, a special 1-day seminar for new Damon users, and a general session with Dwight Damon, DDS, MSD, creator of the Damon System.
Among the distinguished speakers were Alan Bagden, DMD, Springfield, Va, who provided insights into improved treatment efficiency and results in his “Small Steps, Big Results” presentation at the general session. Among the workshop speakers, Dick Eastham, DDS, Bellingham, Wash, discussed the vast research supporting the Damon System in his “Current Research on the Damon System” presentation. Stuart Frost, DDS, Mesa, Ariz, provided guidance for Damon clinicians to comprehensively adopt the Damon System into their practices in his “Integrating the Damon System into Your Practice” presentation.
International Damon events will occur this year in Taipei, Taiwan, April 26 to 29; in Mexico City, Mexico, June 6 to 9; and in Barcelona, Spain, October 4 to 7.
