Hu-Friedy, Chicago, has added the new Symmetry IQ Piezoelectric scaling device to its line of hand and power scaling products.

Although research indicates that both technologies can achieve similar clinical outcomes, North American clinicians often prefer magneostricitive techonology, while many European clinicians prefer piezo devices. To meet the needs of their global customers, Hu-Friedy decided to offer both technologies with its newest device.

The new scaling device includes touchpad controls and a new compact design. The large-diameter, lightweight hand-piece contains fiber-optic illumination.
