Hale Reservation in Westwood, Mass, has a new program kids can really sink their teeth into. The day camp has teamed up with dentists from Dedham Medical Associates this summer to offer classes on teaching kids how to keep their teeth in good shape.

Brian Delacruz, 10, learned that the sugar in Coca-Cola can eventually eat away at your teeth and give you cavities.

"I never knew that stuff could happen," says Delacruz, who was visiting Hale Reservation.

According to Jay Schwab, DDS,  the mission of Dedham Medical Associates is to teach kids what foods are good and bad for them, and to encourage them to routinely brush their teeth.

"Some of these poor kids, their priorities are different from yours and mine," says Schwab. "Their concern is where their next meal is coming from."

Crest has provided free toothbrushes, dental floss, and toothpaste to hand out to all the kids.
