J. Morita, Irvine, Calif, has made a major reduction in x-ray dosage delivered by its cone beam, or 3D, x-ray units. Morita’s 3D product lines now come automatically equipped with a dose reduction feature that lowers dosage from 30% to 40% on all 3D fields of view.
According to the company, the dose reduction feature does not diminish clarity of image, and in fact, enhances the displacement of soft tissue.
The dose reduction feature is included in the Accuitomo and Veraviewepocs product lines with no increase in retail price. According to the company, Morita 3D units that are already in the field can be upgraded with minimal, if any, part replacement.
