J. Morita, Irvine,Calif, has made a major reduction in x-ray dosage delivered by its conebeam, or 3D, x-ray units. J. Morita’s 3D product lines now comeautomatically equipped with a dose-reduction feature that lowers dosagefrom 30% to 40% on all 3D fields of view.
According to the company, the dose-reduction feature does not diminishclarity of image, and, in fact, enhances the displacement of soft tissue.
The dose-reduction feature is included in the Accuitomo andVeraviewepocs product lines with no increase in retail price. Accordingto the company, Morita 3D units that are already in the field can beupgraded with minimal, if any, part replacement.
