According to the AAO, Vincent G. Kokich, DDS, MSD, has been appointed editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (AJO-DO) by the AAO Board of Trustees. Kokich will succeed David L. Turpin, DDS, MSD, who will retire in December 2010.

Michael B. Rogers, DDS, AAO secretary-treasurer and trustee representing the Southern Association of Orthodontists, chaired the search committee.

The duties of the AJO-DO‘s editor include selection of editorial content, appointments of peer reviewers, and writing editorials. Kokich has experience with a number of professional journals. He has been associate editor of the AJO-DO since 1999 and has sat on the editorial boards of the Journal of the American Dental Association, the British Journal of Orthodontics, and the Australian Orthodontic Journal, among others.
