Kelly Toombs, DDS, Prairie Village, Kan (pictured at left), has donated 40 full treatments to needy children whose families cannotafford braces. Toombs made the donation to the nonprofit organizations Smiles Change Lives (SCL).
"He is an absolute champion for the cause. No Smiles Change Lives orthodontist has treated more SCL patients than Dr Toombs," Andrea Umbreit, director of marketing and communications for SCL, said.
SCL is a national nonprofit organization founded in Kansas City. Its mission is to serve children who desperately need, but whose families cannot afford, braces. Toombs was recruited as the first orthodontist to the program in 1998.
