Ross Orthodontic, Midlothian, Tex, has released the Polaris LED, a task light designed specifically for orthodontists.
The light can be pole- or unit-mounted, and it utilizes four LED bulbs designed to produce a natural light and is not blue like many other task lights.
At 18 inches from the mouth, the Polaris LED light will produce a rectangular focal pattern approximately 4 x 6 inches. The light has a variable-brightness control from 600 candlepower (6,500 lux) up to more than 1,800 candlepower (19,368 lux) at 18 inches from the working surface.
Other features include a machined aluminum head, tubular steel arms, articulating swivel arms, detachable power supply, and a 50,000-hour average bulb life.
