Smiles Change Lives (SCL), Kansas City, Mo, a nonprofit that works to provide orthodontic treatment to children from low-income families, has been named a Give Kids a Smile (GKAS) Program Champion.

GKAS is a program of the American Dental Association (ADA) that works with US orthodontists and dentists to provide free oral health care services to children from low-income families. Through the champion’s program, SCL will serve as the orthodontic access-to-care component of the GKAS program’s events and services.

ÌThe Give Kids A Smile program is very appreciative of the transformational services that Smiles Change Lives provides to its recipients. We have all come to appreciate how important a bright and attractive smile is in our social and business activities,Î said Steven Kess, vice president of global professional relations for Henry Schein Inc, Melville, NY, and chairman of the ADA Foundation’s GKAS National Advisory Board.
