Whip Mix Corp, Louisville, Ky, recently held its Lean Symposium of Dental Technology. The 2-day symposium, held October 7 to 8, 2011, brought lab owners, technicians, and industry leaders together to learn how LEAN concepts and principles can improve the efficiency and quality of dental labs.
Attendees also had the opportunity to take part in a panel discussion with lab owners and managers who have incorporated LEAN into their own facilities.
Whip Mix also used the event as an opportunity to recognize labs that have successfully implemented LEAN. Tim Tyndall, owner of Creative Expression, Winterville, NC, was awarded the John Ness Award for his assistance to other laboratories making LEAN transformations. Rich Lhota of Expertec Dental, Westland, Mich, received the LEAN Lab of the Year award.
