TUSK Partners advised Werner Orthodontics in its sale to Spark Orthodontics.

TUSK Partners, a dental-focused mergers and acquisitions advisor, advised Werner Orthodontics in its sale to Spark Orthodontics, a portfolio company of Rock Mountain Capital.

The transaction was led by Kevin Sauer, director of mergers and acquisitions at TUSK Partners. Alex Cherniavsky, and George May, spearheaded the diligence and analytics efforts for TUSK.

“We are elated with the new partnership between Werner Orthodontics and Spark DSO,” said Sauer. “Both organizations had the same core values at the center of their businesses. After going broad to the market, it was quickly recognizable that Werner Orthodontics and Spark were the perfect fit.”

For nearly 20 years, Werner Orthodontics served the community in Indianapolis, Greenfield, and McCordsville, Indiana.

Under the leadership of Greg Werner, DDS, MSD, Werner Orthodontics has a patient-centered business model that brings dental care to the greater Indianapolis area.

With two clinic locations, Werner Orthodontics is a well-known orthodontic group in Indiana.

“I was introduced to TUSK from another practice broker early in my search process,” said Werner. “TUSK did an incredible job running an efficient process and juggled going broad in the market to ensure my expectations were exceeded. They were able to get a deal done in the timeline I desired, which resulted in a premium valuation with the perfect partner.”

Spark Orthodontics was founded in 2010 by Jason M. Hartman, DMD, MS. The dental service organization is known for its innovative office designs and is recognized within the orthodontics community.

“Greg Werner and his team represented the same cultural DNA that is at the core of Spark,” said Hartman. “Their patient-centric approach in their daily operations was obvious early in the process, making the business an acquisition opportunity that we couldn’t resist. We look forward to aiding Werner Orthodontics in their future growth plan and continuing to serve the central Indiana communities with first-class orthodontic care.”
