The 45-minute webinar, which will live stream on Thursday, January 14, will provide an overview of how new legislation affects PPP and EIDL, as well as when to require staff vaccination.

The American Dental Association (ADA) will stream a free webinar this week on the new COVID-19 relief legislation and the implications the law will have on small business loans, taxes, and labor issues. In addition, the webinar will discuss the latest updates on COVID-19 vaccines as they related to dental practices.

The 45-minute webinar—COVID-19 Relief Overview and an Update on Vaccines—will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 12:00 pm ET. Mike Graham, ADA senior vice president, government and public affairs, Cathy Albrecht, ADA senior associate general counsel, and Megan Mortimer, ADA congressional lobbyist, will lead the webinar discussion.

Attendees will be provided with an overview of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) and grants and how they are affected by the new legislation, as well as the basics of the Employee Retention Tax Cut and how it can benefit dental practices. The webinar will also go over current employment-related topics, including paid time off for COVID-19, unemployment compensation benefit extension, and whether and when to require practice staff be vaccinated.

The webinar does not offer continuing education credit. According to the ADA, the webinar will be available for viewing on the ADA’s YouTube channel about 48 hours after the initial presentation.
