Carestream Dental, Atlanta, recently introduced the Carestream Dental Institute as part of its initiative to expand its training offerings to doctors and staff. Formerly the MasterWorks LearnCenter, the Carestream Dental Institute incorporates live online training, self-paced content, hands-on seminars, and personalized training.

“Digital technology is a rapidly growing field, but it’s not without a learning curve,” said Melissa Whiteman, director of global educational development. “Doctors who transition from paper charts to an electronic practice management system, switch from film radiographs to direct digital, or implement a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) system within their office all require in-depth training and programs to ease the transition and maximize their capabilities.”

The Carestream Dental Institute’s online training includes live webinars, many of which offer continuing education credits; online courses with a live instructor; and self-paced how-to guides for using Carestream Dental technology. Online training is available in a number of languages.

On-site training can be tailored to a practice’s needs and includes a visit from a dedicated trainer who works with the practice’s staff and doctors. The length of on-site training ranges from one to three 8-hour days.

The Carestream Dental Institute also offers multiple hands-on courses and educational seminars hosted by doctors and held across the country. These offerings focus on topics such as CAD/CAM and CBCT. The sessions are ideal for practitioners interested in earning CE credits, who also want to learn more about the latest technology and determine whether a technology is a good fit for their practice.
