SML – Space Maintainers Laboratories, Chatsworth, Calif, is running its Dental Sleep Medicine: The Advanced Course on May 31, 2019. The course, which is available for 8 CE Credits, will be held at the company’s headquarters in Chatsworth, Calif.
The 8-hour course is designed for clinicians and staff interested in techniques on how to evaluate and treat sleep patients from start to finish. Topics covered include diagnosing sleep patients, physical examination, treatment planning, appliance selection, record keeping, appliance delivery, adjustments, and medical billings. The course includes hands-on sessions that focus on appliance adjustments, appliance selection, bite registration techniques, and screening and examination. In addition, the course will cover practice growth strategies.
The course will be led by Rob Veis, DDS, and Sal Rodas. Veis is the CEO of Space Maintainers Laboratories, and a general dentist practicing since 1984. He taught at the University of Southern California and the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies. He lectures internationally on the topics of dental sleep medicine, orthodontics for the general practice, and appliance therapy. Veis is the co-author of The Principles of Appliance Therapy for Adults and Children.
Rodas is the chief product officer for SleepArchiTx, a dental sleep medicine solutions provider. He is the executive director and board director of the Foundation for Airway Health, and advocates for interdisciplinary collaboration on addressing breathing disorders.
