Participation will help the organization understand issues women in the dental industry face globally.

The FDI World Dental Federation (FDI) is asking female U.S. dental professionals to participate in a global survey, conducted by the organization, about their working lives. The survey is seeking information on a variety of issues, including income equality based on gender, job security as it relates to maternity leave, and fair working conditions.

“We need the help of female dental professionals to understand the challenges and opportunities they have experienced in their careers,” Irene Marron-Tarrazzi, DMD, past vice president of the ADA and board member of the FDI Women Dentists Worldwide Section, told ADA News.

The FDI Women in Dentistry project, a collaboration between FDI World Dental Federation, FDI Women Dentists Worldwide Section, and the University of Bern in Switzerland, was established to highlight the challenges of the current situation globally, emphasize opportunities, and showcase how women bring positive changes in leadership and innovation in different fields of the dental industry.
