The Organization for Safety & Asepsis Procedures (OSAP) has selected Lori Paulson to serve as chair of its board of directors for the 2008-2009 fiscal year. The organization also announced three new board members: Doug Braendle, Boyd Relac, and Chris Rice.
Paulson, vice president of marketing and dental programs for National Distribution & Contracting Inc, has been managing director of the American Dental Cooperative (ADC) and United Dental Dealers (UDD), two NDC subsidiaries for more than 8 years. Paulson holds an MBA from the University of Denver and a BS in marketing from Lewis University. She has more than 25 years of experience in the dental industry and has been affiliated with OSAP since 1990, most recently serving as a chair-elect.
Doug Braendle is product manager for SciCan Inc, where he has worked since 1994, moving from territory manager, to sales administrator, to product manager. He has a degree from Indiana State University in Terre Haute.
Boyd Relac is director of marketing and merchandise for Patterson Dental. He has a BA from Auburn University, where he graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate. He subsequently served as a US Army officer in a series of leadership and staff positions in Airborne Infantry, Psychological Operations, and Special Forces units on active duty and in the Florida Army National Guard. He has worked in the dental industry since 1997.
Chris D. Rice, DDS, MA, EdS, is associate professor in the department of oral pathology, radiology, and medicine at the University of Missouri School of Dentistry, in Kansas City. Rice received his BS and DDS degrees from Creighton University. He has been a member of and officer in the Society of Infection Control in Dentistry, and a member of OSAP. In addition to clinical teaching and supervision, Rice coordinates and teaches multiple courses, many of which include infection control content. He currently is serving on the Dental Assisting National Board as an infection control consultant.
