Gestenco International AB, Gothenburg, Sweden, has updated its aligner remover tool, the De-Tacher.

Designed for patient home use, the tool allows for easier removal of aligners in both upper and lower jaws.

The updated De-Tacher features a revamped hook for removal of the upper aligner. The company changed the angle of the hook from 90 degrees to 70 degrees. This design change is intended to make it easier for the patient or orthodontist to hook onto those upper aligners.

The reverse side of the De-Tacher remains unchanged and is intended for removing the lower aligner.

The tool features an ergonomic design and provides the patient with the leverage for easier aligner removal. The De-Tacher is intended for multiple uses over the course of treatment.

The De-Tacher is manufactured from titanium-coated steel, allowing it to be used by patients with nickel allergies. It can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
