The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) announced the release of its updated AAO Principles of Ethics, Code of Professional Conduct and Advisory Opinions for members.
According to a press release from the association, “the document was restructured and substantially updated following a recent review focusing on changes in laws or their interpretations by courts and enforcement agencies, compliance with Federal Trade Commission statutes, and effectiveness in protecting both the orthodontic specialty and the public.”
The revised guide was accepted by the House of Delegates at the recent AAO Annual Session in San Diego. The AAO Council on Membership, Ethics, and Judicial Concerns (COMEJC) led the update process.
