The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) certified or recertified 66 orthodontists following their participation in the ABO Traditional Case Clinical Examination in June 2019 in St Louis. This exam marked the final administration of the Traditional Case-based Clinical Examination. All future examinations will utilize the Scenario-based Oral Clinical Examination.

The Clinical Examination is the second of a two-part certification process that also includes prior completion of the Written Examination. ABO Board Certification is a voluntary credential that represents an orthodontist’s personal and public commitment to the standards of specialty practice and lifelong learning.

“Board certification demonstrates a commitment to excellence in orthodontics to the public and colleagues,” said Nicholas D. Barone, DDS, MS, ABO president. “I congratulate all of our newly certified and recertified orthodontists.”
