Align Technology Inc, San Jose, Calif, announced that the iTero Element 2 and iTero Element Flex intraoral scanners have a 2018 Dental Excellence Award and 2018 GOOD DESIGN® Award.

Align’s iTero Element 2 intraoral scanner was awarded the Dental Excellence Award for Best New Diagnostic & Imaging Device 2018. The Dental Excellence Award recognize the best new products, services, companies, and leaders that set a high standard of excellence in the dental industry. Products are nominated by readers and the awards determined by a panel of industry experts. Awards will be handed out at the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Society Meeting in February 2019.

In addition, the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies announced the winners of the 2018 GOOD DESIGN Award. Align’s iTero Element 2 and iTero Element Flex scanners were both winners. This year, the Museum reportedly received a record number of submissions from the world’s leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms representing over 47 countries.

The iTero Element 2 and iTero Element Flex scanners were launched at the 2018 American Association of Orthodontics Annual Session. The products are currently available in Canada, the United States, a majority of European countries (including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom), and select Asia Pacific markets such as Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan.
