The patented technology is designed to convert chairside conversations into structured clinical notes and identify production opportunities.
DentScribe has received a Notice of Allowance from the US Patent and Trademark Office for its patent application covering a system that automates the creation of Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) reports. The technology is designed to turn chairside conversations into structured clinical documentation and actionable items.
Patented System Features
The allowed claims cover a system that automates dental clinical documentation, including real-time capture of conversations between clinicians and patients, generation of structured SOAP notes, and direct publishing into practice management systems. The system also includes automated checklists for care-gap and revenue opportunities through its CoPilot and GPS features.
“This Notice of Allowance is a landmark moment for DentScribe and for dental AI,” says Vinni K Singh, DDS, founder and CEO of DentScribe, in a release. “It validates the core inventions we built to do what dentistry actually needs: listen in real time, understand clinical context, produce structured SOAP documentation, and then convert that documentation into follow-up actions that improve care delivery and increase production.”
Converting Documentation Into Action
According to the company, the platform is designed to turn clinical conversation into structured documentation and then use that documentation to identify production opportunities through chairside checklists and daily operational planning. The company refers to this as its “closed loop” platform: capture, structure, publish, surface opportunities, and execute.
“Most systems capture words. This invention protects a system that captures clinical intent and operationalizes it,” says Ratinder Paul Ahuja, PhD, board chair of DentScribe, in a release. “As an inventor, I’m excited by the scope of what’s been allowed: real-time, schema-driven clinical extraction, deterministic structuring, and a closed loop from documentation into decision support and daily operations.”
Availability
The DentScribe platform is currently available for individual dental practices and Dental Support Organizations (DSOs).
