KaVo Kerr announced that Health Canada, a federal institution part of the Health Portfolio—responsible for helping Canadians maintain and improve their health—has issued a medical device license for the KaVo NOMAD Pro 2 Handheld X-ray System.

The KaVo NOMAD Pro 2 reportedly features state-of-the-art battery technology, which can last up to 600 exposures on a full charge. Designed with an intuitive touchpad user interface, clinicians can customize exposure settings to adhere to ALARA principles for their patients.

“We are excited to expand our KaVo Kerr best-in-class solutions portfolio into Canada with the KaVo NOMAD Pro 2,” says Jordan Reiss, director of product management of KaVo Kerr Imaging, North America. “The KaVo NOMAD Pro 2 enhances the dental imaging workflow with award-winning quality, ease of use and maximized uptime,” says Reiss.

This latest model of NOMAD is portable, easy to use, and lets clinicians remain chairside with their patients—creating a positive radiographic experience for adults, children, sedated patients, patients in rural areas, special needs patients, and many more. The product may also provide immediate cost savings over multiple operatories that would need wall-mount units, with no installation required.

To ensure compliance with local regulations, the KaVo NOMAD Pro 2 device can be purchased from the following authorized distributors: Henry Schein Dental Canada, Patterson Dental Canada, and Sinclair Dental.
