Henry Schein Inc’s chairman of the board and CEO Stanley M. Bergman was granted honorary fellowship in the US section of the International College of Dentists (ICD). The ICD announced this honor at the Richard and Barbara Shaffer Convocation Ceremony of the ICD USA Section’s 2014 Annual Meeting in San Antonio.
The fellowship recognizes Bergman—and Henry Schein—for exemplary contributions to dentistry, including the company’s charitable work done through Henry Schein Cares, its social responsibility program aimed at expanding access to oral care for the underserved.
“For almost a decade, we’ve been impressed by the tremendous work that Henry Schein and Henry Schein Cares have done in service to organized dentistry and outreach,” said Curtis R. Johnson, DDS, FICD, 2014 President, USA Section, International College of Dentists. “The ICD is proud to now recognize Stanley Bergman by inducting him into our institution, as both Henry Schein and the ICD work to have a lasting impact on the oral health of all people.”
