Ortho Technology Inc, Lutz, Fla, has teamed with Marjorie’s Hope, a nonprofit organization that helps children in need through its back-to-school program. The program aims to help children who are homeless or living in homes without electricity/running water, by providing them with all required basic school supplies in a backpack.

All backpacks include basic oral and body hygiene items: shampoo/rinse, facial/body soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, and mouthwash; high school students’ backpacks include disposable razors/shaving cream. Because social acceptance is important during teenage years, extra emphasis has been placed on middle and high school students.

Ortho Technology donated over 1,000 toothbrushes and 500 packs of dental floss to be included in the backpacks this year.

Ortho Technology, which is a Henry Schein company, has worked through the Henry Schein Cares Foundation for many years by donating to and volunteering for organizations in the local community.
