Rocky Mountain Orthodontics-OrthocapsRocky Mountain Orthodontics (RMO), Denver, will offer demonstrations of its Orthocaps aligners at its booth at the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) Annual Meeting in Los Angeles.

Orthocaps reportedly features an innovative dual-layer polymer that delivers a soft inner tray for better grip and a firm outer tray for better force application. Unlike other aligner systems, Orthocaps uses a daytime aligner for comfort and aesthetics, and a nighttime aligner for force-level customization and improved treatment efficiency.

According to the company, Orthocaps uses the digitized iSetup, creating a virtual model that meets treatment preferences, helps ensure accuracy and correct treatment plans, and helps to eliminate the time-consuming “back and forth” doctors experience with labs. The company states that “the thermoforming process creates a precise patient-specific tray that is more comfortable and transparent.”

Orthocaps aligners, which are manufactured by Ortho Caps GmbH, in Hamm, Germany, are exclusively distributed in the United States and Canada through RMO. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration cleared Orthocaps to be marketed in the United States in 2018. More than 16,000 cases have been completed worldwide to date, according to RMO.
