The American Dental Association (ADA) is offering a new publication, The ADA Practical Guide to Patients with Medical Conditions, to help orthodontists deliver better care to patients with chronic medical conditions. The book features detailed references, images, and expert advice from 25 academics and clinicians.

The ADA Practical Guide addresses 20 medical topics including cardiovascular diseases, endocrine disorders, neurologic and psychiatric disorders, geriatric health and functional issues, HIV/AIDS, and medical emergencies. The book includes more than 200 images, more than 75 tables, and a number of quick reference points in each chapter. A companion Web site provides readers with downloadable images, case studies, and a webliography with links to online sources.

The book is a collaboration between the ADA and Wiley-Blackwell, an international scientific, technical, medical, and scholarly publisher.

The book is $59.95 for ADA members and $89.95 for non-members.
