Kettenback LP introduces the complete line of Futar® bite registration materials. The Futar family includes Futar, Futar D, Futar D Fast, Futar D Slow, and Futar Scan.

Futar is the original bite registration with Shore-A hardness of 90. It can be milled and cut with a scalpel. Excess material can be broken off and the correct occlusal position can be checked in the mouth. The working time is 30 seconds, with an intraoral setting time of 1 minute and 30 seconds.

Futar D has an ultra rigid Shore-D hardness of 43. The material is thixotropic and will not run into the interproximal spaces. The material cures with a high-luster finish and has permanent dimensional stability, decreasing the risk of deformation and minimizing the possibility of changes during its shipment to the laboratory. The final hardness enables the clinician or technician to grind it with an acrylic bur or cut it with a scalpel when modifications are needed. The working time for Futar D is 30 seconds with an intraoral setting time of 1 minute and 30 seconds.

Futar D Fast has the same formulation and Shore-D hardness of 43 as Futar D, the only difference being its faster setting time. Its working time is 15 seconds with an intraoral setting time of 45 seconds, making the total set time 1 minute.

Futar D Slow has a longer working time and allows the practitioner to work on fixing impression posts in implantology, myocentric bite registration, and margin design. Its working time is 1 minute and 30 seconds with an intraoral setting time of 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

Futar Scan has a Shore-D hardness of 35 and can be used with CAD/CAM systems because it is optimized for optical and laser registration respectively. Its optical properties are designed to deliver high recording quality and optimal image replication. Its working time is 15 seconds, with an intraoral set time of 45 seconds.
