Gestenco_SunsetStripGestenco International AB, Gothenburg, Sweden, has introduced the Sunset Strip™. The interproximal reduction instrument is available in single-sided and double-sided versions, each of which are available in four different types (super fine, fine, medium, and coarse) and thicknesses (single-sided: 0.08, 0.10, 0.13, and 0.18; double-sided: 0.11, 0.15, 0.21, and 0.30).

The single- and double-sided strips are sold together as part of an assortment kit.

The single-sided Sunset Strip is designed for contouring and finishing composite restoration and for single tooth slenderization. The double-sided Sunset Strip is also for contouring and finishing composite restoration, but it is also well suited for interproximal reductions, according to the company.

A serrated Sunset Strip is also available. It can be used for separating contacts that have become fused with composite or cement. The serrated strip measures at 0.05 thickness.

This IPR instrument has an adjustable component that allows the user to curve the blade for easier and more accurate stripping of contoured teeth.
