Orthodontics Inc (OI), a multi-office orthodontic practice based in Indiana, celebrated Halloween and National Orthodontic Health Month by holding their annual "Halloween Candy Buy Back."

Every year, OI buys its young patients’ candy at $2.00 per pound (up to $20) and ships it overseas to US soldiers who are stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Many of the candy recipients are Indiana National Guard members and members of the US Army, Navy, and Marines. The candy bought back the past 2 years was sent to Patriot Packs in Michigan.

All five OI offices, including  Chesterton, Valpo, Munster, St. John, and Schererville participated donating a total of 957 pounds of candy. Donations of candy were also accepted from the public.

In addition to donating their candy, OI patients made monetary-donations to assist with shipping costs. The children helped raise $106 by giving their money back to OI to help Patriot Packs offset the cost of shipping overseas.
