Propel Orthodontics, Tarrytown, NY, has begun a clinic evaluation of its Propel System® procedure.

The Propel System is a micro-invasive procedure, called Micro-Osteoperforation™, designed to reduce the time required for tooth movement. Performed by orthodontists, the procedure stimulates the alveolar bone to induce an inflammatory response that accelerates tooth movement in the treated area. According to the company, when the procedure is used during active treatment, the length of time required to move teeth has been reduced up to 50%.

Orthodontists participating in the clinical evaluation will be compensated for their involvement. Those interested in participating can visit the company’s Web site for more information.
