uAppoint, a patient-scheduling company, announces the release of “Total Recall,” an e-service that sends out notices to patients by ‘snail mail’ and e-mail.

“The service creates a real-time report of all patients who are due or past-due for their dental cleaning,” says Dov Glazer, DDS, cofounder of uAppoint. “Our staff simply clicks on the names we want to send an invitation to come to the office for necessary care. If the patient has an e-mail address on file, he or she is automatically sent an e-mail message with the date of the previous appointment, the time that has elapsed since the last cleaning, and a list of available appointment times that match both the practice scheduling rules and the patients’ preferences.”

He continues, “If the patient has no e-mail address, it’s no problem. uAppoint mails out the recall postcard for the practice. And all it takes is a single click of the computer mouse to print a postcard label.”

The uAppoint service sends out e-mails as soon as an appointment is scheduled, reminds patients of their appointments 2 weeks in advance and 3 days prior to appointments, and allows patients to confirm online that they will be coming to the office at the time reserved for them.

There is a nominal charge to send postcards, but e-mails are free for practices who subscribe to the service.
