3M Unitek, Monrovia, Calif, will offer a 2-day in-office course on the business of orthodontics, centered on its SmartClip™ SL3 Self-Ligating Appliance System. The course, titled “Smart Systems for Success in Contemporary Orthodontics,” will be led by Robert Waugh, DMD (pictured), and held at his Atlanta-based practice, Waugh & Allen Orthodontics, April 19 to 20, 2013.
The course looks at emerging strategies that can be applied to the orthodontic practice to achieve more efficient clinical and business results. Attendees will be introduced to 3M’s SmartClip™ SL3 Self-Ligating Appliance System and perform hands-on bracket placement and archwire sequencing. In addition, attendees will learn about BriteBrace™ care and patient-specific product recommendation to reduce a practice’s decalcification rate.
The course will teach how to communication with referring dental professionals and patients using HIPAA-compliant Internet resources and HIPAA-friendly Adobe® Flash® videos of completed patient cases. Waugh will also discuss how and why to photograph every patient at every visit for monitoring and demonstrating appointment-to-appointment progress. He will also cover how Google™ click-based advertising and using Google Places™ and Google Alerts™ can aid your practice’s online presence.
The course is open to both doctors and staff members and available for 10 CE credits.
