The 3-day CE course, which will have both in-person and virtual attendance options, features national and international experts in dental infection prevention and patient safety.

OSAP, or the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention, announced registration is now open for the 2022 OSAP Dental Infection Control Boot Camp. The 3-day course, presented by national and international experts in dental infection prevention and patient safety, will be held in-person in Atlanta or available by purchasing the on-demand recordings.

The in-person Boot Camp is scheduled to take place January 24 to 26, 2022 and will include more than 22 hours of live CE educational sessions as well as networking opportunities and a vendor fair.

Early-bird registration is available until December 1, 2021.

The course will cover relevant infection control laws, regulations, guidelines, standards, and best practices, and will offer practical tips on how to implement them in the dental practice setting. According to OSAP, the course curriculum is based on the CDC Guidelines for Infection Control in Dental Health-Care Settings-2003, the 2016 Summary of Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings: Basic Expectations for Safe Care, the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (1910.1030), and the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (1910.2000). And recognizing the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, the Boot Camp course content will also cover the most up-to-date interim guidance and related regulations.

Participants will receive a copy of the OSHA & CDC Guidelines: OSAP Interact Training System, 6th edition workbook, as well as additional checklists and tools.

All participants, in-person and on-demand, will receive access to all session recordings on February 14, 2022, and will have access for 60 days.

The 2022 OSAP Boot Camp is designed for infection control coordinators and dental practice managers in solo and group practices, as well as educators or program directors for infection prevention and safety instruction. The course is also applicable for sales representatives, customer service personnel, service technicians, and other professionals who work for the companies that manufacture or distribute products, equipment, or services to the dental profession.

OSAP also announced that applications for the Anna Nelson, CDA, RDA, MA Scholarship are now being accepted. The scholarship is for practicing dental assistants and provides 25% off the early-bird member rate and 1-year free OSAP Premium Membership. Applications are due by October 29, 2021.
