i-CAT, Hatfield, Pa, a brand of the KaVo Kerr Group, recently launched the i-CAT FLX V-Series, a line of upgradable dedicated 3D CBCT machines. The V-Series allows clinicians to upgrade 2D and 3D technology at their own pace and without buying a new 3D CBCT or other imaging machine.
According to the company, the system offers three fields of view (FOVs), enhanced low-dose and ultra-low-dose 3D imaging, and dedicated 2D traditional panoramic capabilities at a price point starting at under $90,000.
The i-CAT FLX V-Series is designed to support clinicians’ current treatment offerings and incorporate new ones, such as airway analysis. Clinicians have the option to upgrade the FOVs based on their expanding procedure needs. The i-CAT FLX V8 offers 8 cm x 8 cm, 2D Pan, while the i-CAT FLX V10 offers 10 cm x 16 cm, 2D Pan, and the i-CAT FLX V16 offers 17 cm x 23 cm, 2D Pan.
In addition, the series includes i-CAT’s QuickScan and QuickScan+ protocols, which allow users to take complete 3D images at a radiation dose comparable to a 2D panoramic image.
The i-CAT FLX V-Series also features i-PAN™, which allows technicians to take a quick 2D pan using the same sensor used to acquire 3D scans; and i-CAT PureScan™ technology and full-size sensor, allowing the scanners to utilize full-beam scanning and maximize the use of the larger sensor to capture a 3D scan—providing more anatomical information without compromising image quality.
The i-CAT FLX V-Series is available only through the company’s exclusive distributor, Henry Schein Dental.
